So I’m a Liar

Wow guys, I can’t believe it.

I’m a huuuuge liar it seems…I failed you all. I am very sorry. My life is rather hectic, plus I’m lazy sooo….you know how it is.

In other news, I did want to review something that I read a few days ago:

We Hate To Lose You, Mr.Lowsly by Susan Woodring.

This micro book was published by The Cupboard, a publishing house that I am loving at the minute. Their micro books are short and fascinating, often highly experimental, and inexpensive (especially since they’re an independent press). Mr.Lowsly, which won The Cupboard’s annual contest in 2013, is no exception, with Woodring’s masterful prose expertly weaves the lives of Nora, Nora, and Mr.Lowsly together. (Nope, that wasn’t a typo– there are two girls named Nora)

Without giving too much away, I’ll do my best to give you a taste of what you’re getting with this book (which is totally worth it for the low, low price of $5, plus the knowledge that you’re supporting a small press– they even include a little letter about how awesome you are!) then please, read away!

Somewhere, in the middle of middle America, two girls named Nora wander through a cornfield as a principal contemplates not just the end of his career, but the end of his life. While a teacher turns blue, reincarnation looms overhead, and the void beckons every closer. How exactly all these lives intersect will leave you questioning reality in the most delicious way.

Strange? Perhaps. Worth a read? Definitely.

Read this book if: You love to contemplate the validity of “Reality”, You enjoy the avant -garde, or You want a short break from other, more time consuming pieces

Don’t read this book if: You like long, engrossing plots, You want to really become one with a character, or You find speculative fiction distasteful

If this sounds interesting to you, please go buy the book from The Cupboard Pamphlet!
